So what is a glucose-only sweetener?
This is blatant misinformation. Fructose is NOT a toxin in dietary quantities. It is however when you give lab rats over 80% of their caloric intake in sugar.
But what about the recent study showing that vitamin d and c were channeled into cancer cells and increased tumor growth?
Its the SEED OILS
What I can’t wrap my head around is WHY doctor Lustig doesn’t have Millions of views and then there are bone heads like that Berg that do. 🤦♀️
I’m no doctor, but I’m a generally educated individual with common sense. And I have to agree with the first poster here. Humans have been doing not just keto based diets, but also intermittent fasting as well, witch you could well argue you would need a physician more for the latter than the former, and I would still agree and say humans have been doing both for millennia. Without direct supervision by a physician.
Very informative sir. I enjoy videos such as these. Including yours. May I ask, are you talking about ozempic? And if not, wich drug are you speaking of? Thanks! Also I will definitely be checking out your videos
So accurate
Does fructose also impact the integrity of tight junction in the blood-brain barrier? (Re: 55m30s where Lustig says fructose affects the tight junction in the gut.)
Informative ❤
I cut out all added sugar, sweeteners and processed food 3 weeks ago, I was upset that I haven’t lost any weight but can now tighten my belt by two notches, I am pleased to know I also have unseen benefits. Thank you, I will continue.
There are obese people who are healthy because they are able to increase the number of fat cells so none of them are engorged with fat (still insulin sensitive and not releasing FFA and inflammatory cytokines). They may not have fatty liver either.
Thank you professor from Johannesburg 🇿🇦
Sorry, this is nonsense. People have been doing ketogenic diets for millennia without the supervision of a physician. All that’s required is a basic understanding of how it works. It’s a safe way of living. Your main goal is to to drop carbohydrates and eat more animal fats so as to start producing ketones. Eventually you will become fat adapted and your body will no longer run on sugars. It will run on fats, which is a better fuel for multiple reasons.
I bought a Keyto meter and eating Carnivore keeps me in deep ketosis. The Randall Cycle explains how cheating while eating high fat is extremely dangerous.
There are caveats, but one could just write a book about those. I don't see how holding hands with a physician or monitoring excreted ketones makes sense, unless you've got t1d or fail to prime yourself. Also, Don't do plant based low carb. 5 words from that book i just mentioned.
I love Dr. Lustig's videos, no matter how lengthy they are--his videos are like medical school lectures. I must have watched just about all his videos, and take notes from his videos. I have read his books, METABOLICAL and FAT CHANCE and his recommendation PURE, WHITE and DEADLY by John Yudkin. With his very educational videos, Dr. Robert M. Lustig MD is saving lives. I recommend his videos and books to family and friends..
I know that, according to this doctor’s other videos, a major cause of inflammation is sugar and fructose. I have also cut out seed oils, carbohydrates, and all ultra processed foods. I eat a healthy keto diet with cruciferous vegetables and berries. Any other suggestions?
Check out the Randall Cycle
You are a life saver Dr Lustig.
It's interesting that Berberine has simular effects.
I don't have free will on choosing whether or not I will watch a Dr. Robert Lustig interview on Emery Pharma.
What about fruits or fruit smoothies?
And your point IS ?
What's your recommendation in how to take 50,000 units of vit d3 as suggested by a nephrologist for a CKD3 patient?
God bless you Dr Lustig
❤
Amen amen, thank you for saying this
Weak bones or inflammation. Take your pick. 😢
When at first I found out about vitamin D in preventing colds and stuff like that Covid just got started so I figured all right capsule was good so maybe two or three would be better and I literally in about a month almost frozen every joint on my body was screaming, especially where I had previous surgeries I couldn’t walk hardly and I thought it was the lack of magnesium so I added that which didn’t help and I started after your video. I take it sporadically now just one pill I think it’s 1000 mg but there is some discomfort in the ankles, but I had shots in my knees because I couldn’t go upstairs and he said they were starting to fuse
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ YOU.
Isn’t it amazing how the ability of evolution has on our bodies. Evolution is so brilliant and sophisticated.
Ever since I started my Ketogenic lifestyle two years ago, I reversed my insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome completely, a very heart-healthy TG/HDL ratio of 1.0, and pattern-A LDL, large, buoyant LDLs, because of eating high fat foods-- nearly 0 carbs. Ketogenic lifestyle and OMAD have saved my life and reversed all my degenerative diseases. I stopped eating all grains, 0 grains. I just eat high fat, whole foods, and no carbs. I feel so much better with unlimited energy.
And is it not amazing how little the MDs get it, after 2 years of showing him clips like this, mine is trained to just chart “refuses statins” and not offer them and this year he congratulated me on my lab results ignoring the elevated cholesterol and elevated LDL because the panel revealed it was largely fluffy and the lab calculated my insulin sensitivity as stellar. But in his heart I know he is not buying my statin free existence. I’m hunting for a physician because he has no clue what to do with my urine iodine test results…so I asked the lab tech at LabCorps for a list of doctors who routinely ordered this rare test. She gave me names and phone numbers! I’m booked with one provider who is 2 hrs away. I see my doctor annually I am so healthy now, I’d rather see a real one.
I have chronic inflammation, carpal tunnel in both wrists, pancreatitis, etc. what other anti inflammatories? I already know of turmeric. I feel like I should be taking more vitamin D.
😮
My liver was damaged by statins followed by weight gain, followed by 2 yrs of colitis and joints blowing up like gout. Recently diagnosed with continued high cholesterol and diabetic sugar levels in my blood. The drs advised I had to go back on statins so I did some research online and found this wonderful man talking about sugars. I stripped all major carbs from my diet. I eat fish, shellfish, salad and brocoli, cabbage, cauliflower, courgette and onions and make vegetable soups. Drink lemon water and use apple cider vinaigrette with olive oil. It's been 6 weeks. I've lost 10cm round my waist, dropped 3 dress sizes, and lost 11 kg. My colitis is gone and joints are totally healed. In my case the inflammation was obviously a reaction to sugar in my system. His advice has totally worked for me. Here's hoping when I have my blood panel redone in 6 weeks everything is getting better 🙏 🙌 😊
why are they poisoning us?
So, what do we do to to actually utilize it.
Hi, I always thought that besides having the sd-LDL-C, one must also have inflammation of the coronary endothelial cells or layer in order to form plaques.
I would imagine (thought I am not a doctor or an expert, just an avid follower of Lustig's research) that because the standard American diet is highly inflammatory, most people are predisposed to these problems. For more information, may I recommend Lustig's most recent book: Metabolical.
Hi JMY, Thank you for your response. I, too, follow Dr. Robert M. Lustig's videos and consider myself a Dr. Lustig deciple. Not only do I watch his mini medical school lectures, but I also take lengthy notes. Thank you for recommending Dr. Lustig's book METABOLICAL. I have METABOLICAL and his other book FAT CHANCE. I also read a book recommended by Dr. Lustig called PURE, WHITE, and DEADLY by John Yudkin. Dr. Lustig says he is a Yudkin deciple. It's a must-read book. Have a great day.
@@Dolphin_457 Thank you for your response, Dolphin. Always thrilled to encounter another member of Team Lustig. There cannot be too many, I believe. Thank you for reminding me of Fat Chance and Yudkin's book, which I know he mentions often in his interviews. Glad to meet you in cyberspace, take care.
Thank you JMY...nice to meet you as well.. Take care and best wishes..
I was just a little low in vitamin D (the only supposedly low in my blood tests 2 wks ago. I live in FL where there's sun. My primary Recomended I take 1,000 vit D. I went and bought an organic, bobby approved but D & K - I'm searching for a Functional doctor here in the treasure coast of Florida.
It is well documented 5% weight loss leads to reduced liver fat, 7% reduces liver inflammation and 10% reduces liver fibrosis How is weight loss then not important?
They are inflamed, but not from vitamin D3. Americans inflammation stems from lifestyle, poor nutrition and poor gut health.
Finally I have found a big mistake from Dr Lustig. The Apoproteins of chylomicrons and VLDL are identical, just like a security card allowing the liver to reuptake by the liver after delivering their load. IDL and VLDL are called remnant lipoproteins (a misnomer, just starting, not the end). As chylomicrons and VLDL offloads their cargos of some cholesterol and mainly the light triglycerides these particles become smaller and smaller as well as denser and denser. Hence, they become intermediate density lipoproteins (IDL), then LDL and finally HDL. The cargo TG can cause oxidative damages stopping further offloading and stay as LDL. If the protein portion is glycates, it won't be able to bind to the liver receptor for reuptake. The result is rising blood lipoproteins of various densities (several peaks of LDL). The macrophages are able to recognize the damaged security cards and engulfed these particles to form FOAM CELLS (THE trans fats, lipoxides cannot be digested and stay inside the foam like macrophages). These foam cells are able to squeeze through the innermost multiple cells layered endothelium of arteries. The denser LDL particles are not able to precipitate out let alone penetrate the endothelium! The densest HDL particles are not precipitating out either. This is the BIG mistake and misinformation. Statins increase the number of lipoproteins receptors in the liver, thus reducing LDL. GLYCATION of protein side chain reduced the polarity and caused conformation change to increase the DENSITY.
Stated the problem. I'm waiting to hear the solution
Im not sure why there is so much confusion about the information in this video. If you want to learn more, Dr John Campbell has had many very knowledgeable doctors on his channel talking about vitamin D3. Please NOTE D3! THREE. D3 is fat soluble, meaning it needs fat to dissolve and be of use to the body. If you cant take K2, take D3 with some avo, nuts, and so on...i take my D3 + K2 with flaxseed oil. There are many other natural things im doing to support my body, but the addition of daily D3+K2 (5000 units D3 + 180mcg K2) has greatly improved my mental well-being. Health and well-being is impacted by many things. Resistance band training, infra red sauna, daily detoxing, intermittent fasting, i choose a vegan lifestyle making sure i eat a complete protein every day, have fibre for my microbiome health, dont drink or smoke, meditate at least once a day, eat organic fresh unprocessed food, use supplements, that i carefully choose after reading ingredients lists.....its a process but i love my bodymind, and if i want it to carry me through this world and help others along the way, i do all these things and feel even better now in my mid 40's than i did in my mid 20's....and i look like im in my 30's ☺️
Addiction is a choice. Leaving an addiction is a very difficult choice to execute, but it is a choice. Next month is 7 years of no cigarettes. Cold turkey, no vapes, no gum, no patches. No, "we" don't consider addictin a disease. Nonsense.
If you watch his talk on ‘ personal responsibility’ you’ll see that Big Tobacco coined the phrase to shift blame onto the consumer in order to cover their asses when the lawsuits started against them. You have to remember BT used to tell us smoking was actually healthy and so people smoked without knowing the dangers taking the ‘choice’ away from them
Yes they do.
"Nevertheless he that standeth stedfast in his heart, having no necessity, but hath power over his own will, and hath so decreed in his heart that he will...." (1 Corinthians 7:37)
Many years ago, a doctor once changed my way of viewing alcoholism by telling me that( to paraphrase what he said) there is a genetic response to alcohol and you will never know if you will become "hooked" until you take the first drink. From then on, you have lost control. It's the luck of the draw.
So... living with inflammation inhibits bone building and repair. Now I want to know about the most common causes of chronic inflammation.
High fructose corn syrup Pepsi Coca-Cola Sprite crush Dr pepper Start looking at the labels to see what's in your containers that you're buying A bottle of Gatorade has two kinds of sugars in it, but it doesn't tell you what kind of sugars it has If you must do sugar do it as naturally as possible
I have insulin-like growth factor-1 deficiency which is one of the causes of my fatty liver. I am 5’8” & 128 lbs If I was fat, it would be so much easier to heal because endocrine issues are much more difficult
According the Randall cicle carnivore diet and cero carb is the best.
